UN Global Compact launches SDG Pioneers to promote business for good

To create momentum, Global Compact has selected 10 of the brightest leaders in promoting community sustainability to be Local SDG Pioneers.
With the support of the UN Global Compact, a number of the SDG Advocates are calling on business to take concrete action towards helping the UN achieve the SDGs.
“I ask all the CEOs here today to help us. Your advocacy and example can drive action to achieve a life of dignity for all people,” Ban Ki-moon told business leaders at an event on the Global Compact in Davos, Switzerland.
The business community and the private sector can make a difference as United Nations Member States are in the process of formulating a new sustainability agenda, Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today said at the General Assembly, which was meeting to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the UN Global Compact.
