On 20 September, the Global Goal Awards Dinner was held to honour and reward the individuals who have advanced the rights of girls and women in support of the Sustainable Development Goals. Jointly organised by Project Everyone, Unilever and UNICEF, the event was the first annual dinner to mark accountability for the Sustainable Development Goals, and called on everyone to do more and work together to achieve their implementation over the next 14 years.
The SDG Advocates present at the event formed the official judging panel for the awards, which were given to Rebeca Gyumi, Executive Director of the Msichana Initiative in Tanzania; Yusra Mardini, a Syrian swimmer; and DoctHERS, a social enterprise in Pakistan.
