John Mahama, President of Ghana and SDG Advocate, hosted a special working session on the sidelines of the 27th Ordinary Session of the African Union on 16 July to discuss the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Speaking in his capacity as co-chair of the SDG Advocates, President Mahama stated that “a strong political commitment at the global national and local levels will be very important creating favorable conditions to help mobilize all developmental actors to work in harmony for the successful implementation of the SDGS.” He also discussed the attainment of SDGs within the framework of the African Union’s Agenda 2063.
