On Wednesday 30 March 2016, Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden attended the Dag Hammarskjöld Lecture delivered by Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in the Blue Hall at Stockholm City Hall.

Hosted together with Uppsala University, the annual lecture is given in memory of Dag Hammarskjöld, the second Secretary-General of the United Nations, and in recognition of the values that inspired him as Secretary-General.

During the lecture, Mr. Ban underscored the many challenges the world currently faces, as well as their linkages to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development with its 17 Sustainable Development Goals – the SDGs.

“This is a 15-year blueprint to end global poverty approved by world leaders last September. It embodies a commitment to leave no one behind. In many respects, it is a global Declaration of Interdependence,” Mr. Ban stated.
