Paul Ladd, senior policy advisor at the UN Development Programme, explains why 2015 is a the year for global action, and why we have the opportunity to put the planet and all its population on a path of sustainability.

“The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) have shown us that by setting goals and targets we can really make faster progress […] We still have the unfinished agenda of reducing poverty. We need to go that last mile and make sure that we’re doing the job for all people, but we’re also facing new challenges like climate change and environmental degradation, and we need to stops the shocks and conflicts that stop us from making progress on ending poverty.”
