High-Level Week 2025

Overview

The 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly – under the theme Better together: 80 years and more for peace, development and human rights – comes at a pivotal moment to renew global commitment to multilateralism, solidarity and shared action for people and planet. This year’s High-Level Week highlights the urgency of delivering on the promise of the Sustainable Development Goals and reinvigorating global cooperation.

Many of the events taking place during this High-Level Week connect back to the Pact for the Future. Some were directly mandated by the Pact, others align with its commitments on sustainable development, peace and security, digital cooperation, youth and future generations, and global governance. Together, they show how the Pact provides an overarching frame for multilateral action – linking global debates to the promises Member States made when adopting the Pact and its annexes.
