Why is this action important?

Rising military spending can divert resources from education, health, climate action and peace. This analysis will help shine a light on how these trends undermine progress towards a more just, peaceful and sustainable world.

What happens next?

The launch of the report is accompanied by an extensive communication and outreach campaign that is being developed in cooperation with the Department of Global Communications. The study findings will be further disseminated and promoted through events after the launch, including as part of the Vienna Conversation Series on 29 September and as a side event of the First Committee in October.
