Milestone 1

Meetings are convened regularly between the UN and relevant regional organizations to discuss matters related to peace operations, peacebuilding and conflicts, in line with existing Memoranda of Understanding and agreements.

Tackling today’s complex crises requires stronger collaboration. This action ensures the UN and regional organizations continue their close collaboration on international peace and security.

The UN will continue to engage with regional and subregional organizations. The Secretary-General’s report on cooperation with regional and other organizations due in 2026 will include details of these engagements as appropriate.
