Office of the Under-Secretary-General

The Office of the Under-Secretary-General for General Assembly and Conference Management supports the Under-Secretary-General and the Assistant Secretary-General in discharging their responsibilities. Headed by the Chief of Office, who reports to the Under-Secretary-General, the Office leads the overall coordination of the preparation and revision of the departmental inputs to the programme planning aspect of the programme budget; provides support to the Under-Secretary-General’s role as Secretariat-wide Coordinator for Multilingualism; provides substantive and technical secretariat services to the International Annual Meeting on Language Arrangements, Documentation and Publications and the annual coordination meetings of the conference managers of the Secretariat; and coordinates the internal and external communication of the Department.

The Office oversees both the Business Analysis Section, which supports business automation specific to the conference management and conference-servicing operations of the Secretariat, and the Global Technical Team, which supports the Department's gProject information technology products.
