Cindy Sirinya Bishop

As a Regional Goodwill Ambassador for UN Women since October 2020, Thai celebrity and rights activist Cindy Sirinya Bishop is a leading campaigner for the accelerated achievement of multiple facets of SDG 5 as an enabler of all the Goals and a strong voice for gender equality and women’s rights. She uses her role as gender equality advocate to inspire, educate and to find new and creative ways to spread awareness.

In support of target 5.2 of SDG5, she dedicates her efforts to eliminating all forms of violence against women and girls as an active participant and lead voice in the #16Days campaign to end violence against women.

She also works to combat harmful stereotypes in the media, with social movement campaigns such as #DontTellMeHowToDress, with her message “Don’t tell women what to wear; tell men to respect women” and to support teens to feel confident, empowered, and prepared, through her latest campaign focused on menstrual health, contributing to the achievement of target 5.1 to end all forms of discrimination. She is a very well recognized figure in both the entertainment industry, with over 28 years as an actress, model, TV and event host, as well as respected international activist and speaker to uphold women’s rights.
