Possible Changes to in-network provider network for Empire Blue Cross PPO

Empire Blue Cross and New York - Presbyterian (NYP) reached an agreement that will maintain NYP’s physicians and hospitals in Empire’s networks.

Empire Blue Cross is currently in negotiations with the New York Presbyterian Healthcare System which might lead to changes to the available in-network providers. 

NY Presbyterian’s existing contract with Empire Blue Cross will terminate effective 31st May 2021. At the moment, Empire Blue Cross is actively working to reach a reasonable agreement, but if this does not occur, NY Presbyterian and their employed physicians will be out-of-network for dates of service beginning 1st June 2021.

Please note that Empire will not be notifying plan participants directly regarding the status of contract negotiations with New York Presbyterian. To find additional information about this process, please review both Letter Template 1 and Letter Template 2 as provided by Empire Blue Cross.

Please rest assured that Empire Blue Cross is working diligently, and in good faith, to reach a reasonable agreement with NY Presbyterian before 1st June 2021 and we will keep you updated on the process, however, you can also visit www.empireblue.com/NYPresbyterian for any updates.
