The UN Health and Life Insurance Section (HLIS) does not provide health insurance to non-staff members. However, we are pleased to announce that the Orion International Insurance Services (Orion) is available to provide assistance to non-staff members needing to purchase travel medical insurance. Orion is a leader in brokering travel medical, expatriate and other international insurance products.
While enrollment is optional for all non-staff members, the UN requires non-staff members to have a travel medical insurance policy when traveling outside of their home country on UN business. This policy applies to contractors, consultants, experts, and committee and commission members. To assist you with compliance to this requirement, Orion has built a dedicated website just for UN non-staff members that can be accessed via https://oriontravelun.com.

Orion International Insurance Services (Orion) is pleased to assist non-staff members, that are not eligible for UN subsidies insurance, secure the necessary medical insurance needed when working for the UN. Orion has dedicated an entire website to non-staff members, where you can create your own plan, receive a quote and buy an insurance policy in minutes.
