Ricardo Jorge Fernandes Alves, born in Lisbon (Portugal) on 27 October 1981. Former student of the Military Institute of Pupils of the Army. Holds a degree in European Studies (2003) and a Master’s degree in Public Administration (2011). Served as a Senior Officer in the field of International Cooperation at the Portuguese National Institute of Public Administration (2008 to 2015). Diplomat at the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs since December 2015; served as Adviser to the Vice-Minister for Portuguese Communities (2018 to 2020). Posted at the Embassy of Portugal in Havana, Cuba (2020 to 2024). Currently posted at the Permanent Mission of Portugal to the United Nations (since 2024), with a primary focus on the Fifth Committee, UN80 initiative, the contributions portfolio and Peacekeeping Operations. Speaks Portuguese, English and Spanish. |
