Mr. Szymon Pękala (Poland) |
Szymon Pękala is currently serving as a Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Poland to the United Nations in New York. He is that country’s expert on the Fifth Committee of the General Assembly, dealing with administrative and budgetary matters of the United Nations. Mr. Pękala is a career diplomat and a civil servant, working for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland since 2008. During his service, he has held positions at the departments of the Ministry responsible for public diplomacy, media relations and, most recently, consular affairs. From 2014 to 2018, Mr. Pękala was a Vice-Consul and a Head of Section at the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in New York. Mr. Pękala holds a master’s degree in international relations from Maria-Curie Skłodowska University in his home city of Lublin, Poland, and a postgraduate degree in national security from the University of Warsaw. |
