Terrorism affects everyone everywhere. All too often it is civilians who bear the brunt of these brutal acts.
“Surviving Terrorism: Victims’ Voices from Norway”, produced by the Department of Public Information, offers an intimate portrayal of two victims of the July 2011 mass killings by Anders Breivik. The documentary shows the lives of Ms. Kamzy Gunaratnam and Mr. Viljar Hanssen as they recover from the attack and turn their experiences into something positive.
This is the first in a series of documentaries by the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism on victims of terrorism. The series provides an opportunity to understand the resilience and strength of victims and the importance of hearing their voices.
This event will take place on Thursday, 9 November 2017, from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. at United Nations HQ, New York.
