75^th General Assembly session (2020)

In light of the extraordinary circumstances relating to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, during the 75th session, the Fourth Committee considered the decolonization items jointly with all other substantive agenda items before the Committee, pursuant to its organization of work (A/C.4/75/L.1) adopted at its organizational meeting on 8 October 2020. The Committee did not hold its annual hearings on Non-Self-Governing Territories. Relevant documentation before the Committee, including on decolonization, is available in A/C.4/75/INF/1.

During its 75^th session of the General Assembly, the following agenda items concerning decolonization were allocated to the Fourth Committee, in accordance with the Note by the Secretariat dated 18 September 2020 (A/C.4/75/1) and the Fourth Committee considered below decolonization items in 9 meetings in total (from the 2nd to the 10th meeting):

• Item 57: Information from Non-Self-Governing Territories transmitted under Article 73 e of the Charter of the United Nations;
• Item 58: Economic and other activities which affect the interests of the peoples of the Non-Self-Governing Territories;
• Item 59: Implementation of the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples by the specialized agencies and the international institutions associated with the United Nations;
• Item 60: Offers by Member States of study and training facilities for inhabitants of Non-Self-Governing Territories; and
• Item 61: Implementation of the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples.

The Fourth Committee submits the following reports on each agenda item to the plenary of the General Assembly:

• A/75/417 for item 58;
• A/75/418 for item 59;
• A/75/419 for item 60; and 
• A/75/420 for item 61.
