70th General Assembly session (2015)
During the 70th session of the General Assembly, the following agenda items concerning decolonization were allocated to the Fourth Committee in accordance with the letter dated 18 September 2015 from the President of the General Assembly (A/C.4/70/1) and the Fourth Committee held 7 meetings in total (from 2nd to 7th and 24th meetings):
- Item 59: Information from Non-Self-Governing Territories transmitted under Article 73 e of the Charter of the United Nations;
- Item 60: Economic and other activities which affect the interests of the peoples of the Non-Self-Governing Territories;
- Item 61: Implementation of the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples by the specialized agencies and the international institutions associated with the United Nations;
- Item 62: Offers by Member States of study and training facilities for inhabitants of Non-Self-Governing Territories; and
- Item 63: Implementation of the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples.
The Fourth Committee submitted the following reports on each agenda item to the plenary of the General Assembly:
- A/70/501 for item 59;
- A/70/502 for item 60;
- A/70/503 for item 61;
- A/70/504 for item 62; and
- A/70/505 for item 63.
