63rd General Assembly session (2008)
During the 63rd session of the General Assembly, the following agenda items concerning decolonization were allocated to the Fourth Committee in accordance with the letter dated 19 September 2008 from the President of the General Assembly (A/C.4/63/1) and the Fourth Committee held 8 meetings in total (from 2nd to 7th, 11th and 13th meetings):
- Item 33: Information from Non-Self-Governing Territories transmitted under Article 73 e of the Charter of the United Nations;
- Item 34: Economic and other activities which affect the interests of the peoples of the Non-Self-Governing Territories;
- Item 35: Implementation of the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples by the specialized agencies and the international institutions associated with the United Nations;
- Item 36: Offers by Member States of study and training facilities for inhabitants of Non-Self-Governing Territories; and
- Item 37: Implementation of the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples.
The Fourth Committee submitted the following reports on each agenda item to the plenary of the General Assembly:
- A/63/404 for item 33;
- A/63/405 for item 34;
- A/63/406 for item 35;
- A/63/407 for item 36; and
- A/63/408 for item 37.
