Calling any AFICS/NY member who worked with or has memories of staff member Elva Levy. Her family, in particular her nephew, George Dellon, and friends to whom she remains special, would like to put together a document that memorialises her UN career. However, George says they are lacking a full picture of her career and would very much like if anyone who remembers her could be in touch with him at the following numbers (home) 631-324-6379 and (cell) 623-606-1458.
George recalls that Elva served in Jakarta, Bangkok, Geneva, and possibly Mexico. He has also been told by a colleague of Elva's that she may have been an AFICS Secretary.
Additionally, there is also an interesting story told by one close friend of Elva's and her children, that refers to Elva and this friend being at the gates of a Nazi Concentration Camp with General Patton upon its liberation. George is therefore reaching out to AFICS/NY colleagues to collect other stories about Elva as well as to use all this material, to honor her, while she is still with us.
We hope that any of you who was a colleague or have any information on Elva Levy would be kind enough to be in touch with George Dellon (her nephew) at the number above.
Thank you in advance for your help.
