Committee's meeting online
The Membership Committee works to increase membership by encouraging retirees, as well as staff about to retire, to join AFICS/NY and benefit from its activities and services. This Committee also is responsible for producing the Directory of Members, latest 2019 issue.
Activities / Achievements
- Made presentations along with the AFICS/NY leadership at the UNSU organized pre-retirement seminar on 25 Feb 2025 and answered questions posed by the participants, mostly on the ASHI.
- Co-hosted a Member Mix & Mingle event on 8 January 2025. It was very well attended and highly appreciated by the attendees.
- Sent a letter, courtesy of Pension Fund, to the retirees and beneficiaries residing in the USA on 11 November 2024.
- Had an AFICS/NY table at annual health insurance campaign on 6 June 2024 and at the UNWG bazaar held on 5 December 2024.
- Made presentations along with the AFICS/NY leadership at the UNSU organized pre-retirement seminar on 1 Feb 2024 and UNICEF organized webinar on 29 May 2024.
- Made presentations at UN Pre-retirement seminars showcasing AFICS/NY’s value-add.
- Participated in AFICS/NY table at the UN on Staff Day. 2019 gallery
- Targeted Funds and Programmes with HQ in New York, to expand membership diversity.
- Revised the Membership Application Form, to allow for pro-rated membership based on when people join during the calendar year.
- Revised the Annual Membership Dues Form to offer the option of switching from yearly to life-time membership.
- Revised “Why Join AFICS/NY?” – a basic advocacy document, to better showcase AFICS/NY.
- Published the new Directory of Members in August 2019 (printed) and online August 2023.
