AFICS/NY 2022 Governing Board Elections: Information on the ballot distribution and the voting process

The AFICS/NY Governing Board has decided that the 2022 Governing Board elections would be carried out through the support of an online election company once again this year due to the extraordinary situation of the Covid-19 pandemic over the last two years.

In this connection, this year’s ballot will be coming to you via your email or mail through the Election Services Co.

The email to be used by the vendor will be aficshelp@mg.electionservicescorp.com  which you should add to your contacts, so this email does not go to your spam or trash folders.  In addition, if you have any questions, you can call them at 1-866-720-HELP (4357) once the voting starts.

For those that do not have an email address, ballots will be sent to you by the same vendor through the US mail as was done in the past.  We therefore ask you to be sure to open this regular mail ballot package and follow the return instructions on the election ballot.

Voting for Governing Board members will begin on 2nd May 2022 and close on 31st May 2022.  Results of the voting will be announced at the 52nd AFICS/NY Annual Assembly to be held during the first half of June 2022.

Please look for your election ballot package in your email and for those without email in your regular mail.

And most importantly be sure to vote!  Thank you.

ELECTION DOCUMENTS

Election of Governing Board Members for 2020 & 2021 Cycles - Letter from John Dietz, president, April 2021

Postponed AFICS/NY 2020 Governing Board Elections for Six Open Positions

To worldwide AFICS/NY members,

We wish to inform you that because of the current challenging and unique times as a consequence of COVID-19 pandemic, it has been decided to postpone the AFICS/NY 2020 Governing Board election for six open positions.

AFICS/NY conducts the Governing Board elections through its Nominating Committee by mail and switching to an electronic process using email would entirely disenfranchise a very significant portion, about 1/3, of our members for whom we do not have email addresses.

It was the Governing Board, at its first virtual meeting on 8 April 2020, that decided, following a proposal made by the Nominating Committee, to postpone this year’s election until it can be conducted in the usual manner by mail.

onsequently the Governing Board also decided to extend the terms of the six Governing Board members whose terms would expire this summer until circumstances permit the proper election of their successors.  At that time, the Nominating Committee will restart the election process and all those members who have already expressed their interest or have accepted our invitation to participate in this election will also be considered by the Committee.

We hope that you and your families will remain safe and healthy during these unprecedented times.

Sincerely,

Sudershan Narula, Co-Chair Nominating Committee

Marianne Brzak-Metzler, Co-Chair Nominating Committee
