Since the establishment of AFICS/NY at United Nations Headquarters in New York in 1970, the Governing Board and its Committee members have worked to protect the interests of retiring and retired UN staff and their families, with the primary focus of activities on Pension Fund and Health Insurance matters, as well as promoting member well being (Ageing Smart) and fostering social and personal relationships among the membership (Social and Other Events).
