International Women’s Day
Dear colleagues,
UN Women is pleased to invite you to the United Nations Observance of International Women’s Day 2022. The event will take place virtually on Tuesday, 8 March 2022 from 10.00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. EST. The Observance will be streamed on UN Web TV. Please see the flyer for additional information.
To facilitate the planning of the event, kindly RSVP here.
Aligned with the priority theme of the 66th session of the Commission on the Status of Women, the theme for the United Nations Observance of International Women’s Day 2022 is “Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow”. This year, International Women's Day celebrates the women and girls who are leading the charge on climate change adaptation and response and honors their leadership and contributions towards a sustainable future.
The Observance will feature the Secretary-General of the United Nations together with high-level dignitaries from the United Nations, as well as Dr. Jane Goodall, DBE, and other sustainability advocates and gender champions who will offer reflections on the day’s theme. The event will also include musical performances by Angelica Hale and Broadway singers.
The colour for International Women’s Day 2022 is green. The hashtag for social media will be #IWD2022.
We look forward to your participation!
