Official communiqué of the 9888th (closed) meeting of the Security Council
Held in private at Headquarters, New York, on Friday, 28 March 2025, at 10 a.m.
“At its 9888th meeting, held in private on 28 March 2025, the Security Council considered the item entitled ‘The situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian question’.
“The President invited the representative of Israel to participate in the meeting in accordance with rule 37 of the Council’s provisional rules of procedure.
“In accordance with the provisional rules of procedure and the previous practice in this regard, the President invited the Permanent Observer of the Observer State of Palestine to the United Nations to participate in the meeting.
“The President invited Ms. Edem Wosornu, Director, Operations and Advocacy Division, Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, to participate in the meeting in accordance with rule 39 of the Council’s provisional rules of procedure.
“The members of the Council heard a briefing by Ms. Wosornu.
“Statements were made by the representatives of the United Kingdom, France, the United States, Pakistan, Panama, Algeria, Slovenia, China, the Republic of Korea, Sierra Leone, Greece, Somalia, the Russian Federation, Guyana and Denmark.”
