Syrian Arab Republic and Tunisia: draft resolution

The Security Council,

Reaffirming its resolutions 242 (1967) of 22 November 1967, 338 (1973) of 22 October 1973,1397 (2002) of 12 March 2002, 1402 (2002) of 30 March 2002, 1403 (2002) of 4 April 2002, 1405 (2002) of 19 April 2002 and the statement of its President on 10 April 2002 (S/PRST/2002/09),

Gravely concerned at the continuation of the Israeli military siege on the headquarters of the President of the Palestinian Authority, as well as the endangerment of his personal safety, in the city of Ramallah, and on the Church of the Nativity in the city of Bethlehem,

Reiterating its welcoming of the initiative of the Secretary-General and welcoming his appointment of the fact-finding team,

Reiterating also its concern at the dire humanitarian situation of the Palestinian civilian population, including the shortage of essential materials such as food and medicine in several Palestinian cities, towns and refugee camps,

1. Demands the immediate end of the Israeli military siege on the headquarters of the President of the Palestinian Authority in the city of Ramallah as well as on the Church of the Nativity in the city of Bethlehem in full and immediate implementation of its resolutions 1402 (2002) and 1403 (2002);

2. Demands that Israel, the occupying Power, and the Palestinian Authority cooperate fully with the fact-finding team appointed by the Secretary-General without any hindrance or conditions;

3. Decides to remain seized of the matter.
