The President of the 71st Session of the General Assembly organized two “consultation(s) on the participation of indigenous peoples’ representatives and institutions in relevant United Nations meetings on issues affecting them”, during the 16th Session of the Permanent Forum. 

The meetings took place at the UN Headquarters in New York on Wednesday 26th April 2017 from 3-6 PM in Conference Room 4 (CR4), and on Wednesday 3rd May 2017 from 10 AM-1 PM in Conference Room 4 (CR4) as well. On Friday 5th May, an Informal briefing to Indigenous Peoples on the negotiations process also took place from 2 to 3 PM in room S-1524 (15th Floor).
