Goal 15: Life on Land

EAPD will present recent research explaining how the current series of crises—individually and in combination—are likely to affect the ability to deliver the promises included in the 2030 Agenda. The research analyzes the transmission of these crises through seven channels and discusses policy implications.

Ambassador Mohan Pieris, President’s Counsel, has been serving as the Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to the United Nations in New York since January 2021. Prior to his appointment, Ambassador Pieris held the positions of the Chief Justice, Attorney General, Senior Legal Advisor to the Cabinet, Legal Consultant to the Central Bank, and Legal Adviser to the Ministry of Defence of Sri Lanka.

Several contributing factors need to be reviewed to look into currently emerging inflationary pressures, including the oil market, grains market, base metal market, semiconductor chip shortage, international shipping, wages and monetary factors.
