The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned the storming by extremist settlers of the plazas of the blessed Aqsa Mosque with the protection of the Israeli occupation forces, the restrictions imposed on worshipers, assaulting, and arresting dozens of them. It considered this dangerous escalation as an attack on the sanctity of holy places and freedom of worship, and a flagrant violation of human rights instruments, the Geneva Conventions and relevant UN resolutions.

The OIC reiterated that the blessed Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Sharif in its entirety is a place of worship solely reserved for Muslims. It urged the international community to respond vigorously to put an end to these repeated Israeli violations, and to compel Israel, the occupying power, to respect the sanctity of the holy places and maintain the legal and historical status of the Aqsa Mosque.
