The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned the murder, at the hands of the Israeli occupation forces, of 13-year-old Palestinian child Ali Abu Aliya in the village of Mughayer, northeast of Ramallah, considering the crime yet another case of continuous Israeli breach of internationally recognized Palestinian child rights which demands investigation and accountability for the perpetrators.
Moreover, the General Secretariat condemned the attempt, by an Israeli settler, to set fire to the Gethsemane Church in the occupied Al-Quds city, considering it a further example of recurrent Israeli assault on Muslim and Christian sites alike, and an affront to the principles of international humanitarian law instruments, particularly the Geneva Conventions prohibiting commission of “any acts of hostility directed against the holistic monuments, works of art or places of worship which constitute the cultural or spiritual heritage of peoples.”
