AD HOC COMMITTEE ON PALESTINIAN 21st Meeting |
Press Release GA/PAL/56 |
The Ad Hoc Committee on the Palestinian Question reassembled this morning for the first time since the appointment of its two subcommittees, 23 October.
The Chairman, DR. H.V. EVATT (Australia) opened the 21st meeting informally, as a quorum was lacking, and asked for reports from the Chairman of the two subcommittees.
The Chairman of subcommittee I, MR. KSAWERY PRUSZYSKI (Poland) declared that subcommittee I has nearly completed work on the questions of frontiers and economic union and hoped to have its full report in shortly.
In reply to a question by Dr. Evatt, Mr. Pruszynski said he could not promise the full report by tomorrow night.
The Chairman of subcommittee II, SIR MOHAMMED ZAFRULLAH KHAN (Pakistan) said that work on his subcommittee's report was complete except for final adoption by the subcommittee. Ho added that he had been instructed by the subcommittee to submit its report simultaneously with that of subcommittee I.
Both Committees originally were scheduled to hand in their reports on October 29.
Dr. Evatt said he felt that a report should be handed in on its completion.
The meeting adjourned at 11:00 A.M. and the next meeting of the Ad Hoc Committee will be held immediately upon receipt of the reports of the two subcommittees.
