Minister Fini sends congratulations to the new Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Palestinian National Authority, Nasser Al-Qidwa

It was with great pleasure that I learned of your appointment as leader of Palestinian diplomacy.

I am convinced that your well-known experience in international relations will give renewed impetus Italy and the Palestinian National Authority's bilateral collaborative relations as well as those of multilateral forums.

I personally wish to assure you of any necessary collaboration, in the certainty that your government will proceed with ever increasing determination along the path to internal reform, international dialogue and negotiations with Israel, for the purposes of achieving total and lasting peace in the Middle East.

I would also like to take this opportunity to assure you that the Italian government shall continue to work with conviction and unflagging commitment on behalf of the birth, alongside Israel, of an independent and democratic Palestinian State, as well as toward the improvement of the living conditions of the Palestinian people.

I look forward to meeting with you in person and extend, in the meantime, my warmest and sincerest wishes.
