The OIC secretary-general appeals to the Palestinians to act with self-restraint to prevent bloodshed
The Secretary-General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, expressed his regret over the unfortunate clashes that took place in the Gaza Strip, and appealed to the different Palestinian forces and factions to act with self-restraint and give precedence to the language of dialogue so as to bury internal disorder and prevent the shedding of Palestinian blood in this holy month.
He considered that the safeguarding of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people requires the unification of Palestinian ranks and fortification of national unity as the unconquerable fortress that preserves the national achievements of the Palestinian people.
Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu expressed hope that the formation of the national unity government will be achieved as soon as possible in order to put an end to the testing conditions of the Palestinian people as a result of the sanctions, the blockade and the withholding of assistance.
