European Commission to pay €6.5 million in allowance to Palestinians in social hardship cases – European Commission press release/Non-UN document

Continuing EU Support For One Million Palestinians

The European Commission, through the Temporary International Mechanism (TIM), will pay from today €6.5 million in allowances to social hardship cases.

This is the fourth round of payments to over 36,000 beneficiaries under the TIM social hardship cases scheme. The payment is being made to impoverished households, often headed by women, and to those that include the elderly or family members with special needs. Each beneficiary will receive NIS 1,000 (€185).

So far, more than 150,000 households have received direct financial assistance through the low income and social hardship cases schemes. With an average family size of six, this takes the number of Palestinians who are directly benefiting from the TIM support to almost one million.

The activities of the TIM are coordinated in partnership with the Palestinian Ministry of Finance and the Office of the President.
