Report of the Secretary-General on the work of the Organization (A/60/1)

Mr. Zhang Yishan (China) (spoke in Chinese ): …

The peace process in the Middle East has recently witnessed positive developments. With the cooperation of the Palestinian side, Israel has successfully completed its withdrawal from Gaza and areas in the West Bank. This is of positive significance for the advancement of the talks between the parties and the resolution of the conflict. We hope that both parties will seize this opportune moment and put the Israeli and Palestinian peace process back on the track of the road map as soon as possible.

The meeting rose at 4.20 p.m.
