Supplemental information

The Chief of Staff of UNTSO, Major-General Ensio Siilasvuo, has submitted the following report on incidents observed by United Nations military observers and complaints received from the parties on 26 October 1972:

Israel-Lebanon sector
1. OP 1/ reports On ground activity:
OP Ras:  Between 0430 2/ and 1505 Israel forces personnel, armoured personnel carrier and trailer re-occupied position at approximate MR 1907-2749 north of border pillar 19.
2. OP reports on air activity:
OP Ras: Between 0707 and 0709 two Israel forces jet aircraft flying south-east to north-west then turning south-west, crossed the ADL (armistice demarcation line) east of OP and recrossed the ADL south-west of OP.
3. Complaints by the parties:
A complaint has been received from Lebanon alleging that on 25 October between 0815 and 0820 two Israel forces jet aircraft overflew the Lebanese regions of Majidiye (approximate MR 2117-2987), Hasbaiya (approximate MR 2147-3115) and Marjayoun (approximate MR 2056-3074).
The above complaint was not confirmed by United Nations observation. Israel-Syria sector
1.   OP reports:
(a) OP Winter: Between 04l2 and 04l4 machine-gun and two rounds of mortar fire by Israel forces.
(b) OP Two:  At 1248 and at 1902 machine-gun fire, which ceased immediately, on both occasions by Israel forces.
(c) OP Seven:  Between 1^28 and 1^32 sporadic machine-gun fire by Israel forces.
(d) OP Six: Between 1757 and 1758 machine-gun fire by Israel forces.
(e) OP Five: At 1920 machine-gun fire, which ceased immediately, by Israel forces.
2.  Complaints by the parties:
A complaint has been received from Israel alleging that on 23 October at night an armed group crossed the SFDLs (the limits of the Syrian forward defended localities indicating the cease-fire line on the Syrian side) and the IFDLs (the limits of the Israel forward defended localities indicating the cease-fire line on the Israel side) into Israel-held terril north-west of OP Yoke.
The above complaint was not confirmed by United Nations observation.
