Mr. President,

The Chinese Government and people firmly support the Arab peoples in their lust struggle to resist aggression and safeguard their State sovereignty and territorial integrity and firmly support the Palestinian people in their just struggle to restore their national rights.

We have always held different Views in principle on the question of sending United Nations observers. However, taking into consideration the request of the country concerned and the specific circumstances prevailing now, the Chinese delegation will not oppose the proposal for an increase in the number of observers.
