Libyan ship bound for Gaza/SecCo meeting request – Letter from Libya

    Letter dated 2 December 2008 from the Permanent Representative of the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya to the United Nations addressed to the President of the Security Council

 

  Further to our letter to you No. 4/2/2202 dated 2 December 2008 concerning the Libyan ship Al-Marwa which was bound for the port of Gaza carrying humanitarian aid, and in view of subsequent serious developments, please be informed that I have received urgent instructions from the Government of my country to request the convening of an emergency meeting of the Security Council.

  We therefore hope that you will take the necessary measures to convene an emergency meeting of the Security Council to discuss this issue. I should be grateful if you would have the present letter circulated as a document of the Security Council.
