Supplemental information
The Chief of Staff of UNTSO, Major-General Ensio Siilasvuo, has submitted the following report on incidents observed by United Nations military observers and complaints received from the parties on 27 October 1972:
Israel-Lebanon sector
1. OP 1/ reports on ground activity:
OP Has: Between O41O 2/ and 1505 Israel forces personnel, armoured personnel carrier and trailer reoccupied position at approximate MR 1907-2749 north of border pillar 19.
2. OP reports on sea activity:
OP Naq: At l420 one Israel forces patrol boat, sailing south to north, crossed into Lebanese territorial waters west-south-west of OP. At 1430 the boat was last observed in Lebanese territorial waters west-south-west of OP. United Nations military observers did not observe recrossing due to terrain.
3»  Complaints by the parties:
Complaints have been received from Lebanon alleging that:
(a) On 26 October between 0940 and 0950 two Israel forces jet aircraft overflew the Lebanese regions of Bent Jbail (approximate MR 1908-2805), Tibnine (approximate MR 1886-2887) and Nabatiye (approximate MR 1958-3090).
(b) On 26 October between 1210 and 1220 two Israel forces jet aircraft overflew the Lebanese regions of Bent Jbail, Nabatiye, Saida, Jezzin (20 kilometres east of Saida), Hasbaiya (approximate MR 2147-3115) and Marjayoun (approximate MR 2046-3074).
The above complaints were not confirmed by United Nations observation. However, regarding complaint (a) OP Ras reported jet sounds at 0935. Regarding complaint (b), OP Kbiam reported jet sounds at 1209.
Israel-Syria sector
OP reports:
(a) OP Five: At 0405 machine-gun fire, which ceased immediately, by Israel forces.
(b) OP Six: At 0439 machine-gun fire, which ceased immediately, are between 1808 and l8l2 sporadic machine-gun fire by Israel forces.
(c) OP Romeo: Between 0501 and 0505 sporadic machine-gun fire by Israel forces.
(d) OP Two: Between 1023 arid 1025 small-arms fire and at 1740 machine-gun fire, which ceased immediately, by Israel forces.
(e) OP Yoke: Between 11141 and 1142 machine-gun fire by Israel forces.
(f) OP November: Between 1432 and 1528 fourteen rounds of mortar fire by Israel forces.
