The President of the 76th session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid, met today with H.E. Mrs. Kandia Camara, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire.
H.E Mrs. Kandia Camara thanked the President of the General Assembly for his participation and unwavering support for the UNCCD COP-15 and his advocacy on issues related to desertification, land degradation and drought. She also reiterated the continuous support of Cote d’Ivoire to the Presidency of Hope and the priorities of President Shahid for the 76th session. She renewed Cote d’Ivoire’s keenness to cooperate with the United Nations and its commitment to multilateralism.
The President of the General Assembly thanked the Minister for the continued support to his Presidency of Hope. He commended Cote d’Ivoire’s strong commitment to peace, security, and stability in the region and for its continued commitment to multilateralism and contribution in addressing various global challenges.
Both sides also discussed other relevant topics such as multilateralism, climate change, youth, and gender.
The meeting took place in Sofitel, Hotel Ivoire in Abidjan.
