Meeting between President of General Assembly and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Moldova

The President of the 76^th session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid, met today with the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Moldova H.E. Mr. Gheorghe Leucă.

Ambassador Leucă expressed support to the PGA’s priorities for the 76^th session, focusing on recovery from COVID-19, climate change, human rights, gender and youth.

The President expressed gratitude for Moldova’s contribution to the work of the General Assembly. He informed about his upcoming initiative on COVID-19 vaccines. He also mentioned about the PGA Youth HOPE Fellowship Programme and gender equality initiatives.

The meeting took place in the President’s office at United Nations Headquarters in New York.
