With the objective to increase personal safety and security in the Kigoma region, the UNTFHS funded programme worked with communities to launch a campaign to collect and destroy illicit guns.
Support to primary education in drought-prone and pastoralist areas

The programme supported a large-scale school feeding initiative by restoring school buildings, training and motivating teachers, providing quality education, and operating school gardens. This resulted in the dual benefits of an improved learning environment with higher enrolment by children from pastoralist communities in rural areas.
