    The programme was a multi-sectoral, coordinated response aimed at stabilizing fragile communities in north-western Tanzania by simultaneously addressing the security, health, economic and environmental challenges faced by refugee and host communities.

    The programme supported a large-scale school feeding initiative by restoring school buildings, training and motivating teachers, providing quality education, and operating school gardens. This resulted in the dual benefits of an improved learning environment with higher enrolment by children from pastoralist communities in rural areas.
