72nd General Assembly session (2017)
During the 72nd session of the General Assembly, the following agenda items concerning decolonization were allocated to the Fourth Committee in accordance with the note by the Secretariat dated 15 September 2017 (A/C.4/72/1) and the Fourth Committee held 9 meetings in total (from 2nd to 9th and 27th meetings):
- Item 58: Information from Non-Self-Governing Territories transmitted under Article 73 e of the Charter of the United Nations;
- Item 59: Economic and other activities which affect the interests of the peoples of the Non-Self-Governing Territories;
- Item 60: Implementation of the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples by the specialized agencies and the international institutions associated with the United Nations;
- Item 61: Offers by Member States of study and training facilities for inhabitants of Non-Self-Governing Territories; and
- Item 62: Implementation of the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples.
The Fourth Committee submitted the following reports on each agenda item to the plenary of the General Assembly:
- A/72/452 for item 58;
- A/72/453 for item 59;
- A/72/454 for item 60;
- A/72/455 for item 61; and
- A/72/456 for item 62.
