Il convient de prendre sans délai des mesures concrètes pour réduire les risques qui menacent l’économie mondiale et asseoir les fondations d’une croissance économique stable et durable. Une économie mondiale dynamique et inclusive est au coeur de la réalisation des objectifs ambitieux du Programme de développement durable à l’horizon 2030. Les décideurs doivent s’employer à limiter les risques à court terme liés aux vulnérabilités financières et à l’intensification des différends commerciaux tout en mettant en oeuvre une stratégie de développement à plus long terme en vue de la réalisation des objectifs économiques, sociaux et environnementaux.

Hace falta adoptar urgentemente medidas políticas concretas para reducir los riesgos para la economía mundial y sentar las bases de un crecimiento económico estable y sostenible. Para poder alcanzar los ambiciosos objetivos de la Agenda 2030 para el Desarrollo Sostenible, la economía mundial debe ser dinámica e inclusiva. Los responsables de la formulación de políticas deben hacer lo posible por contener los riesgos a corto plazo derivados de las vulnerabilidades financieras y la escalada de las controversias comerciales, y al mismo tiempo promover una estrategia de desarrollo a más largo plazo para alcanzar los objetivos económicos, sociales y ambientales. Las medidas de políticas decisivas se basan en la aplicación de un enfoque multilateral, cooperativo y a largo plazo en la formulación de políticas mundiales en esferas clave, como la lucha contra el cambio climático, la financiación sostenible, la producción y el consumo sostenibles y la eliminación de la desigualdad. Para ello también es necesario avanzar hacia un sistema multilateral más inclusivo, flexible y receptivo.

Marking 70 years of publication, UN/DESA's flagship report on the state of the global economy, the World Economic Situation and Prospects 2017, was launched today in New York by Assistant-Secretary-General for Economic Development, Lenni Montiel, and Senior Economic Affairs Officer, Dawn Holland. The report states that world gross product is forecast to expand by 2.7 per cent in 2017 and 2.9 per cent in 2018, with this modest recovery more an indication of economic stabilization than a signal of a robust and sustained revival of global demand.  Regional launches will take place in Addis Ababa, Bangkok, Beirut, Geneva, Johannesburg, Mexico City, Moscow and New Delhi throughout the week.
