CDP Vice-Chair at CEPA

On 27 March, Arunabha Ghosh, Vice-Chair of the Committee for Development Policy (CDP), participated remotely at the 22nd Session of the Committee of Experts on Public Administration (CEPA) discussing “Urgently transforming institutions for a greener, more inclusive and more resilient world at a time of multiple crises”.
Mr. Ghosh shared some of the key messages from the CDP’s most recent Plenary session, held in February about the need for countries to pursue strategies, in line with the concept of a just transition, that will secure climate action, environmental sustainability and resilience-building in a way that reinforces the ambitions to meet all SDGs. He further stressed that these strategies should be based on structured and inclusive processes of social and political dialogue based on transformative and strategic thinking that reflects the specific contexts of each country.
Both the CDP and CEPA are subsidiary bodies of ECOSOC, and interaction between the Committees can help strengthen the effectiveness of the ECOSOC system.
