National Validation Workshop (11-14 July 2022) on draft Vanuatu public-private partnership policy

On 11 July, EAPD organized a session to share the experiences of five countries (Fiji, Kyrgyz Republic, Palau, Papua New Guinea and Uzbekistan) on public-private-partnership (PPP) with the Government of Vanuatu's Department of Strategic Policy, Planning and Aid Coordination and its Investment Promotion Authority. In addition, EAPD with the Government of Vanuatu's Prime Minister's Office organized two rounds of consultations on Vanuatu's draft Strategic Plan for Implementation of PPP and its draft PPP Policy with the private sector on 12 and 13 July. EAPD further co-organized a national validation workshop on 14 July where key government, state owned enterprises, private sector and civil society stakeholders and development partners including the Asian Development Bank, Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, China, New Zealand and the International Finance Corporation of the World Bank Group, had the opportunity to provide further inputs and to validate the draft Strategic Plan and Policy on PPP for Vanuatu. The Strategic Plan and Policy will be tabled at the Council of Ministers meeting in August 2022.
