On 16 December, Professor Sakiko Fukuda-Parr, Vice-Chair of the Committee for Development Policy (CDP), participated as a panelist at the Ministerial Conference of the Group of 77 and China on the theme "Achieving the SDGs addressing the present challenges and building resilience against future 2022 Crisis". Ms. Fukuda-Parr spoke during the roundtable discussion on "Expanding access to finance and investment in Africa and countries in special situation" and highlighted the perspectives from the CDP discussions in recent years and shared insights on recent developments. The conference was convened in the backdrop of severe global economic shocks caused by the pandemic, geopolitical tensions and market volatility which have raised concerns about the food, finance, and energy crises, and reversed progress towards the SDGs.
