On 7 May, at ECOSOC’s Development Cooperation Forum (DCF), CDP Chair Jose Antonio Ocampo stressed the importance of development cooperation and debt relief to help LDCs address the health crisis and the socio-economic impacts of COVID-19 and to accelerate structural transformation. As observed in the CDP’s comprehensive study many LDCs spent more in 2020 on debt servicing than on health. Productive capacity needs to be at the center of action for LDCs in the next decade.
