CDP member participates at CEPA
On 8 April 2019 Committee for Development Policy (CDP) member Marc Fleurbaey participated in the 18th session of the Committee of Experts on Public Administration (CEPA), discussing “Governance and public administration aspects of empowering people to build equal and inclusive societies for the twenty-first century”.
Professor Fleurbaey shared the central ideas about empowerment, inclusiveness and equality conveyed in the report of the CDP to ECOSOC, including the importance of addressing the disempowering mechanisms that are often built into economic and political systems, pushing people behind. Both the CDP and CEPA are subsidiary bodies of ECOSOC, and interaction between the Committees can help strengthen the effectiveness of the ECOSOC system.
