The climate and development crises will be solved together, or not at all. And the faster we begin, the less painful—and more possible—the solutions will be. Writing about climate change often falls into one of two opposite traps, both of which this book avoids. This is not a story of gloom and doom, of inevitable climate catastrophe. On the contrary, it spells out, in more detail than usual, what can and should be done to avert the real risks of disaster.
